I nanny the cutest kids in the world over the summer. (: I’m not even being vain, because they aren’t my kids!!
Their names are Amira (2) and Abby (1.) Their baby sister (Allison) was born last Wednesday, so I’ve been helping out a lot more lately! The mother (Alexis, have you noticed all the “A” names?! Isn’t that adorable? :]) had a c-section, so she’s not able to pick up the kids! Plus, she has a blood disorder which drains her energy, and she needs to sleep a lot….
So, today I took them to “Tots Time” at the pool! That’s when this local pool opens up only the little kids area for an hour and a half, to let the kids play before naptime! It’s one of the greatest ideas, in my opinion, for moms of little kids! I took Abby and Amira, and they just love it! When I took them the first time, they’d play in the 5-inch deep water and pretend to ride this frog and whale playthings. They’d stick their hands in the fountains, splash, and blow bubbles, but that was it! By now, they’re going down all the slides, I hold them on their bellies as they kick around the water, they explore the entire area themselves, they play catch with the other little kids, they teach their toys to swim, and so much more! Before, they lasted maybe 45 minutes top. Today, I couldn’t get them to leave after the Tots time ended!
If you need a way to get your kids to nap for awhile, swimming is definitely the answer! It completely wipes them out, and they’ll fall asleep on the ride home! (:
Tomorrow, I’ll be leaving on a vacation to Branson, so I won’t get to see the girls for a week, and I’m so sad! =/ Sure, the days get long and tiring when I babysit in the morning, then go to work in the afternoon, but it’s days like today that make me just soo happy that they chose me to help nanny and I accepted. The girls are darlings, and I just can’t wait to have my own. (:
I hope everyone is doing well!
